Storytelling connects. My life is about connection--to family, friends, community, self and Spirit. When I stumbled upon storytelling in 1980, I discovered a life path. After 10 years of telling in schools, libraries, and local festivals, I broadened my focus to include therapeutic storytelling. For 15 years I've led groups in mental health and transitional settings where we use myths to foster growth and healing.

Highlights of my storytelling life so far include:
*Receiving an Oracle Award in 2016 from NSN for service in the Pacific Region
*Performing a sold-out performance at the Stories At Work program at the 2004 National Storytelling Festival in Jonesboro.
*Performing twice on The Apple Seed on Sirius Radio
*Writing 3 collections of Japanese, Mexican, and African folktales for a reading series.

I enjoy telling traditional, historic, and personal stories. You can hear some stories and learn more at my website. www.joanstockbridge.com.
