I have been telling stories professionally since 1976; when I began telling in an ensemble. As a child I told traditional tales in school in Virginia and when I was eight years old, I told a story well enough that it kept me from getting punished! I love Anansi Tales and Brer Rabbit Tales! I try to share stories with a lesson. I have told stories in Ghana and in South Africa as well as in the Midwest, especially Minnesota and the Metropolitan area of the Twin Cities - Minneapolis and St. Paul. I have been a featured teller at many of the "In The Tradition" festival and conference produced by the National Association of Black Storytellers.
