**Gutsy girls, wise women, tricksters and string come to life as Barbara weaves folktales and string stories; sings medieval ballads; and shares the history and legends of Michigan.

**Her comfortable, lively, spontaneous style enchants audiences of all ages (children, teens and adults) as her rich voice and flawless pacing conjure images from the depth of the imagination.

**An award-winning recording artist, popular workshop presenter, experienced performer for schools, libraries, festivals, museums and more, Barbara has a national reputation for consistent, high quality work. Her recordings have won 2 Parents Choice Gold Awards, an ALA Notable, and 2 Storytelling World Award Honors.


A freelance performer since 1983, Barbara grew up hearing stories at family gatherings and has continued the storytelling tradition as a camp counselor, teacher, parent, and professional.

**Barbara holds a Bachelors Degree in Literature, Language, Speech and Drama and a Masters Degree in Childrens Literature with an emphasis in Folklore from Eastern Michigan University.
