Maryland Storytelling Guilds and Organizations

 

Western Maryland Mountains & Lake Tellers

Our tellers and listeners produce a Tall Tale Liars Contest and Festival in Oct., Story Swap Nights, a Tellabration! in Nov., and Soup and Story Nights at local restaurants and Inns around the lakes and in the forests. Storytellers on the Hill

Storytellers on the Hill is a guild for all persons interested in preserving and perpetuating the art of storytelling as a way of enriching our lives. Membership is open to the public, to all ages, to storytellers and story listeners. Contact: Joanne Hay, 717-642-8039, jhay@pa.net

 

Voices-in-the Glen

Voices seeks to promote storytelling and listening in the Washington Metropolitian area. We hold monthly swaps at member's houses, a yearly festival (our 20th is coming up) with workshops and concerts, and guild meetings on the craft and business of storytelling. We work with other groups and tell at festivals and events throughout the region. We host a website where members may have their own pages. Washington Storytellers Theatre
