The "World Famous" River and Storyweavers CHICKEN FESTIVAL
State: Kansas

The Annual River and Prairie Storytweaver’s (RAPS) Chicken Festival will be held Jan.20-22 at the Best Western Hotel in Emporia, Kansas! The Chicken Festival has NO feature tellers . . . Everyone who attends IS the Feature Teller! Bring your stories and come prepared to tell. The Chicken Festival goes to communities which do not have a storytelling guild. We spend two years in the community going into the schools to tell to students, and inviting the local community to join in the fun and pure JOY of storytelling.
The cost is LOW and the excitement is HIGH. The festival gives every attendee the opportunity to participate. If you play a musical instrument of ANY KIND, there are opportunities to play with the group.
Stories are limited to 8 minutes, so everyone has the opportunity to tell. The format involves containers marked with Story subject, Personal . Funny, scary, etc, and even an “open session” where it is your choice. Late night sessions are breakout events where longer stories and “really scary” tales can be told.
Mark your calendars now and plan to attend.

Friday evening, Jan. 20, 1012, 5:00 PM through Suday Jan. 22 at noon.
$45 includes two meals and annual RAPS membership
