StoryBox

On January 27 The Story Box Project will be launched and we want you to be a part of it.

Have you ever wanted to travel around the world?   Have you ever wanted to have your story around the world?  You can.

What is the Story Box Project?

The Story Box Project is a project that Kevin Cordi developed in 1995 that is a large decorated “Story Box” that travels around the world and comes back to the original place one year later.   In the box people of the community or storytelling guild or school place stories that they have heard or a story that they want to share or even an original story that they have written and want to share with others.  This “Story Box” travels from place to place and becomes a gift for all who receive the box.   Each person shares the content of the box for about a week and they come together and read and tell stories that are from the box or inspired from the box.  People photocopy stories from the box so that they would have them later but the originals stay with the box.  Some people elect to put in newspapers of their town, storytelling tapes or CDs, and other material in addition to stories.   Then the box is re-packaged and sent to another place.  This “Story Box” travels from one place to another.  The whole intent of “The Story Box” is that we can share stories from all over the world together.

The Story Box is already set to travel as far as Poland , China , Alaska , and more.   The Story Box is making a stop at the National Storytelling Conference in Oklahoma City .
