How to make a nomination
for the ORACLE Awards

The ORACLE Award nomination process usually begins in December and the selection process is usually finished by March.
To Nominate someone for an award:
1. Read through the descriptions of the awards in order to determine what award best fits the person you have in mind.
2. Fill out the nomination form.
3. Attach the letters of support from at least three (and no more than eight) other people.
4. Attach no more than six pages (8 ½” x 11”, with 1-inch margins and type font no smaller than 10). Please refer to the description of the specific award on the NSN website when writing the narrative. As applicable to the award, narrative regarding the nominee should also focus on (but need not be not limited to) the following:

Description of the nominee’s contribution to the storytelling community.

Description the nominee’s contribution to NSN.

Description of the nominee’s contribution to the community in which they live.

Description of how the nominee’s work has expanded public awareness of storytelling.

Description of the nominee’s originality in their body of artistic work and/or preservation of storytelling as a traditional art form.
5. Send the nomination form and supporting documents to awards@storynet.org. If you are unable to send the nomination form via e-mail, you may mail it to the NSN office.
