2007 Legacy Project

Since 2004, NSN and the Local Committees have worked together to to give back to the local community of the conference. Through your efforts we have story flags (Bellingham '04), Stories of Hope (Oklahoma City '05), a financial contribution to the Three Rivers Storytelling festival (Pittsburgh '06).

The Legacy Project of the 2007 National Storytelling Conference is a multi-layered gift from the conference community to the people of St. Louis. Through partnership with the Interchange program of the Center of Creative Arts, up to ten public school teachers will attend workshops at the conference and receive storytelling books and resources along with Professional Development credit and pay.

But it wouldn’t be a true conference Legacy without you! Attendees are invited to share tried-and-true storytelling lesson plans with these Legacy Project teachers to help them integrate storytelling in their classrooms as both an educative tool and an expressive art. You can send in your submissions before the conference -- either electronically or by mail, or bring them to the conference and deposit them in the Legacy Project drop-box there. Important: Please attach a copy of the waiver below to all submissions.

To contribute, please bring your best storytelling-in-education ideas to the conference drop-box, or mail them to the Legacy Project, care of Kind Crone Productions, P.O. Box 1113, Columbia, MO 65205, or email them to mary@kindcrone.com. For further information, email Mary Green or call her or Milbre Burch at the Kind Crone office: 573-443-3131.
